Job Overview

The Public Health Policy Analyst will play a pivotal role in researching, drafting, and evaluating health policies that support the Ministry’s objectives. This position involves close collaboration with senior officials, stakeholders, and external partners to ensure policies are evidence‑based, culturally appropriate, and financially sustainable. Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate stakeholder consultations, workshops, and public hearings to gather input and build consensus.
  • Monitor and evaluate the implementation of existing health policies, identifying gaps and recommending corrective actions.
  • Prepare technical reports, policy impact assessments, and briefing notes for senior leadership.
  • Collaborate with international agencies (WHO, UNICEF, World Bank) to align national policies with global standards.
  • Support budgeting and resource allocation processes for health programs.
  • Maintain an up‑to‑date repository of policy documents, research findings, and regulatory frameworks.

Required Skills

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with proficiency in statistical software (e.g., STATA, SPSS, R).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, capable of translating complex data into clear policy recommendations.
  • Deep understanding of Nigeria’s health system, regulatory environment, and public health challenges.
  • Experience in stakeholder engagement, negotiation, and consensus building.
  • Project management expertise, including timeline and deliverable tracking.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of multidisciplinary teams.

Education

A Master’s degree in Public Health, Health Policy, Economics, Public Administration, or a related discipline is required. Candidates with a Ph.D. or additional certifications in health economics or policy analysis are highly desirable.

Experience

Minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in health policy analysis, research, or program evaluation within governmental, non‑governmental, or international organizations. Prior experience in the Nigerian health sector or familiarity with local health data systems is advantageous.

Salary

The position offers a competitive salary ranging from ₦2,500,000 to ₦3,500,000 SSP per annum, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Additional performance‑based incentives may be provided.
