We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Digital Forestry Systems Analyst to join our team in Osogbo, Nigeria. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing and implementing digital solutions to support our forestry and conservation efforts.
Job Overview
The Digital Forestry Systems Analyst will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing digital systems to support our forestry and conservation efforts. This will include:
- Developing and maintaining digital maps and spatial data to support forest management and conservation efforts
- Designing and implementing digital systems to monitor and analyze forest health, including tree growth, species composition, and habitat quality
- Developing and implementing digital tools to support forest restoration and reforestation efforts, including seedling tracking and monitoring
- Collaborating with local communities, governments, and other stakeholders to develop and implement sustainable land-use plans
- Providing training and technical assistance to local communities and government agencies on digital forestry systems and best practices
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Designing, developing, and implementing digital systems to support forestry and conservation efforts
- Developing and maintaining digital maps and spatial data to support forest management and conservation efforts
- Designing and implementing digital systems to monitor and analyze forest health
- Developing and implementing digital tools to support forest restoration and reforestation efforts
- Collaborating with local communities, governments, and other stakeholders to develop and implement sustainable land-use plans
- Providing training and technical assistance to local communities and government agencies on digital forestry systems and best practices
Required Skills
The successful candidate will possess:
- Strong technical skills in digital mapping, spatial analysis, and data visualization
- Experience with digital forestry systems and best practices
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Fluency in English and local languages
Education
The successful candidate will hold a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Forestry, or related field.
Experience
The successful candidate will have 8-12 years of experience in digital forestry systems, conservation, or a related field.
Salary
The successful candidate will be offered a salary of 600,000 – 800,000 SSP per annum.
