Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Commercial Litigation Counsel to join our elite dispute resolution team in Abuja. This role is designed for a legal expert who possesses a deep understanding of Nigerian commercial law and has a proven track record of handling complex litigation and arbitration matters. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing high-value disputes, representing clients in various courts and tribunals, and providing strategic legal advice to mitigate litigation risks. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage complex commercial litigation and arbitration cases from inception to resolution.
- Develop comprehensive legal strategies for high-stakes disputes involving corporate, banking, and energy sectors.
- Draft and review pleadings, motions, briefs, and legal opinions with extreme precision.
- Represent clients in various judicial and quasi-judicial bodies across the country.
- Conduct extensive legal research and provide actionable insights on emerging legal trends.
- Advise clients on risk management and dispute avoidance strategies.
- Mentor and supervise junior associates and legal interns within the dispute resolution department.

Education
Candidates must possess a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) from a recognized university and have been duly called to the Nigerian Bar (B.L). Post-graduate qualifications such as a Master of Laws (LL.M) or professional certifications in Arbitration or Mediation will be highly advantageous.
Experience
A minimum of 7 to 10 years of post-call experience in commercial litigation is required. Proven experience in handling complex disputes in the energy, telecommunications, or financial services sectors is highly preferred. Candidates should demonstrate a history of successful outcomes in high-value commercial matters.
