Job Overview
The Credit Risk Analyst will join the Risk Management Department to evaluate credit proposals, monitor portfolio performance, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. The analyst will work closely with relationship managers, credit officers, and senior risk leaders to provide data‑driven insights that safeguard the bank’s asset quality. Key Responsibilities
- Analyze credit applications, financial statements, and market data to assess borrower creditworthiness.
- Prepare detailed credit risk reports, including risk ratings, exposure limits, and recommended actions.
- Monitor existing loan portfolios for early warning signals and recommend remedial actions.
- Collaborate with product teams to design risk‑adjusted pricing models.
- Ensure adherence to Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) guidelines and internal credit policies.
- Participate in credit committee meetings and present risk assessments.
- Utilize advanced analytical tools and statistical models to forecast credit loss provisions.
- Maintain accurate documentation in the bank’s risk management system.
Required Skills
- Strong analytical and quantitative abilities with proficiency in Excel, SQL, and statistical software (e.g., SAS, R, or Python).
- In‑depth knowledge of credit risk frameworks, Basel III, and Nigerian banking regulations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for report preparation and stakeholder presentations.
- Attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.

Education
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related discipline is required. Professional certifications such as CFA, FRM, or CISA are considered an advantage and demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning.
Experience
Candidates should have 3‑5 years of hands‑on experience in credit risk analysis, preferably within a commercial banking environment. Experience with loan underwriting, portfolio monitoring, and risk modeling is essential.
Salary
The compensation package ranges from SSP 2,500,000 to SSP 4,000,000 per annum, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The package includes performance‑based bonuses and other statutory benefits.
