Job Overview
The Insurance Underwriting Analyst will play a pivotal role in assessing risk, pricing policies, and supporting the underwriting team in delivering tailored insurance solutions to clients in the Onitsha region and beyond. Reporting to the Underwriting Manager, the analyst will evaluate applications, conduct financial and actuarial analyses, and collaborate with sales and claims teams to ensure accurate risk assessment and profitable underwriting decisions. Key Responsibilities
- Analyze insurance applications, financial statements, and actuarial data to determine risk exposure.
- Prepare detailed underwriting reports and recommend appropriate premium rates.
- Collaborate with the sales team to provide underwriting guidance and support business development initiatives.
- Monitor existing policies for changes in risk profile and recommend adjustments as needed.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of underwriting guidelines and risk models.
- Utilize underwriting software and data analytics tools to enhance decision‑making efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
- Participate in periodic audit reviews and contribute to continuous improvement projects.

Education

Experience
Applicants should have 2‑4 years of experience in insurance underwriting, risk analysis, actuarial work, or a related field. Experience within the Nigerian insurance market or exposure to emerging market risk assessment is highly desirable.
Salary
The compensation package ranges from ₦2,500,000 to ₦3,500,000 per annum, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The package includes performance‑based bonuses and other incentives aligned with company goals.
