Job Overview
The Smart Manufacturing Systems Engineer will lead the design, implementation, and optimization of intelligent manufacturing solutions for GE Renewable Energy’s production facilities in Nigeria. This role focuses on integrating IoT sensors, AI‑driven analytics, and advanced robotics to enhance operational efficiency, product quality, and predictive maintenance. The engineer will work closely with cross‑functional teams, including production, quality, R&D, and supply chain, to drive digital transformation initiatives that support the company’s strategic goals. Key Responsibilities

Required Skills
- Proficiency in PLC programming, SCADA systems, and industrial communication protocols (OPC-UA, MQTT).
- Strong knowledge of AI/ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Azure ML.
- Experience with IoT platforms, edge devices, and cloud services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Solid understanding of mechanical and electrical systems in manufacturing environments.
- Excellent problem‑solving abilities and data‑driven decision‑making.
- Effective communication skills for cross‑functional collaboration.
- Project management experience with Agile or Lean methodologies.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering, or a closely related discipline is required. Advanced certifications in Automation, AI, or IoT are highly desirable and will be considered an asset during the selection process.
Experience
