Job Overview

The Quality Assurance Manager will lead the QA function at the Jos brewery, ensuring that all products meet stringent regulatory standards and internal quality benchmarks. Reporting to the Head of Operations, the manager will oversee laboratory testing, process validation, and continuous improvement initiatives. Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive quality management systems aligned with ISO 9001 and local regulatory requirements.
• Lead a team of QA analysts and laboratory technicians, providing coaching, performance reviews, and professional development.
• Oversee raw material, in‑process, and finished‑goods testing to ensure compliance with product specifications.
• Conduct root‑cause investigations for non‑conformances and drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Collaborate with Production to design and execute process validation studies and hygiene audits.
• Maintain accurate documentation, batch records, and quality reports for internal and external audits.
• Monitor key quality metrics and generate regular performance dashboards for senior leadership.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging regulations, and best practices to continuously improve quality standards.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of food safety standards (HACCP, GFSI, ISO 22000).
• Proficiency in statistical analysis tools and quality improvement methodologies (Six Sigma, Lean).
• Excellent problem‑solving and analytical abilities.
• Effective communication skills for cross‑functional collaboration.
• Leadership experience managing multidisciplinary teams.
• Ability to interpret and apply Nigerian food regulatory guidelines.

Education

A bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Microbiology, or a related discipline is required. Candidates holding a master’s degree or professional certifications such as Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) or Six Sigma Green Belt will be given preference.

Experience
