Job Overview

The Network Optimization Engineer will play a pivotal role in enhancing the performance, reliability, and efficiency of Globacom’s nationwide mobile and broadband networks. Reporting to the Head of Network Engineering, the successful candidate will analyze network data, design optimization strategies, and implement solutions that improve coverage, capacity, and user experience. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive network performance assessments using drive‑test tools, KPI dashboards, and real‑time monitoring systems.
• Develop and implement optimization plans to enhance radio frequency (RF) parameters, reduce dropped calls, and increase data throughput.
• Collaborate with radio planning, core network, and field engineering teams to execute configuration changes and upgrades.
• Analyze traffic patterns and forecast demand to recommend capacity expansions and technology upgrades.
• Prepare detailed technical reports, optimization proposals, and post‑implementation reviews for senior management.
• Participate in network rollout projects, ensuring optimal design and integration with existing infrastructure.
• Stay abreast of emerging telecom standards, industry best practices, and competitive trends to drive continuous improvement.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of LTE, 5G NR, and GSM/UMTS network architectures.
• Proficiency with network optimization tools such as Atoll, Mentum Planet, or similar.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities with a data‑driven mindset.
• Effective communication skills for cross‑team collaboration and stakeholder presentations.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
• Familiarity with scripting languages (Python, Bash) for automation is a plus.

Education

A bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related discipline is required. Professional certifications such as Cisco CCNA/CCNP, Nokia NRS, or Huawei HCIE are advantageous and demonstrate a commitment to technical excellence.

Experience

Applicants should possess a minimum of five to seven years of hands‑on experience in network optimization, performance analysis, or radio planning within a major telecom operator or a reputable consultancy. Experience with large‑scale network deployments in emerging markets will be highly valued.

Salary
