Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement detailed exploration project plans, including scope, schedule, budget, and risk management.
  • Lead multidisciplinary field teams, ensuring safety protocols and regulatory compliance are strictly followed.
  • Coordinate geological data acquisition, drilling programs, sampling, and assay analysis to evaluate mineral potential.
  • Prepare technical reports, feasibility studies, and presentation materials for senior management and external partners.
  • Manage relationships with local communities, government agencies, and landowners to secure permits and maintain social license to operate.
  • Monitor project performance metrics, identify variances, and implement corrective actions to keep projects on track.
  • Ensure all exploration activities align with Rio Tinto’s sustainability and environmental policies.

Experience

Applicants must have 5 to 8 years of progressive experience in mineral exploration, with at least three years in a project management capacity. Experience in West African mining jurisdictions, particularly Nigeria, is strongly preferred. Salary
