The Mining Exploration Project Manager will lead the planning, execution, and delivery of mineral exploration projects in the Osogbo region. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement detailed exploration project plans, including scope, schedule, budget, and risk management.
• Lead multidisciplinary field teams, ensuring safety protocols and regulatory compliance are strictly followed.
• Coordinate geological data acquisition, drilling programs, sampling, and assay analysis to evaluate mineral potential.
• Prepare technical reports, feasibility studies, and presentation materials for senior management and external partners.
• Manage relationships with local communities, government agencies, and landowners to secure permits and maintain social license to operate.
• Monitor project performance metrics, identify variances, and implement corrective actions to keep projects on track.
• Ensure all exploration activities align with Rio Tinto’s sustainability and environmental policies.

Education

Experience

Applicants must have 5 to 8 years of progressive experience in mineral exploration, with at least three years in a project management capacity. Experience in West African mining jurisdictions, particularly Nigeria, is strongly preferred. Demonstrated success in leading drilling campaigns, managing budgets, and delivering exploration results that have progressed to development phases is essential.

Salary
