Job Overview
The Airport Operations Manager will oversee all day‑to‑day activities at Ilorin Airport, ensuring seamless coordination between airlines, ground handling agents, security personnel, and regulatory authorities. Reporting to the Regional Operations Director, the manager will be responsible for implementing operational policies, optimizing resource allocation, and maintaining compliance with the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) standards. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise airport ground operations, including check‑in, boarding, baggage handling, and ramp services.
- Coordinate with airline partners, ground handlers, and security agencies to ensure compliance with safety and security protocols.
- Develop and implement operational procedures that reduce aircraft turnaround time and improve on‑time performance.
- Monitor real‑time flight schedules, manage disruptions, and communicate effectively with stakeholders during irregular operations.
- Ensure all airport facilities meet NCAA regulations, conducting regular audits and corrective actions.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports for senior management.
- Manage budgeting, staffing, and resource allocation for the airport operations department.
- Lead emergency response drills and oversee incident investigations to maintain a culture of safety.
- Collaborate with the commercial team to support revenue‑generating activities such as retail concessions and passenger services.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using data analytics and performance metrics.
