Job Overview

Sterling Oil Exploration and Energy Production Company Limited (SEEPCO) is seeking an experienced Operator Technician – Water Production Plant to support daily operations of its water treatment and bottling facility in Lagos. This role is ideal for professionals with extensive experience in RO water treatment systems, bottling plant operations, preventive maintenance, production management, industrial equipment operation, quality control, and packaged drinking water manufacturing.

The successful candidate will be responsible for operating, monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining water production systems while ensuring compliance with WHO, SON, and NAFDAC quality standards.

Key Job Responsibilities

Water Treatment Plant Operations

  • Operate and monitor Reverse Osmosis (RO) systems and water purification equipment.
  • Manage filtration units, dosing systems, and disinfection systems including UV and ozone treatment.
  • Conduct plant start-up and shutdown procedures according to approved Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Monitor water treatment processes to ensure maximum production efficiency.
  • Maintain proper operational conditions for treated water production.

Bottling Plant Operations

  • Operate bottling lines including:
    • Bottle rinsing
    • Filling operations
    • Capping processes
    • Labelling systems
    • Packaging and dispatch preparation
  • Ensure production targets are achieved while maintaining quality standards.
  • Monitor conveyor systems and filling equipment for smooth operation.

Process Monitoring & Quality Control

  • Monitor critical parameters such as:
    • pH levels
    • Total Dissolved Solids (TDS)
    • Flow rates
    • Pressure levels
    • Conductivity measurements
  • Record and analyze operational data.
  • Report abnormalities and process deviations.
  • Support water quality testing and laboratory sampling activities.
  • Ensure final products comply with WHO, SON, and NAFDAC regulations.

Equipment Maintenance Support

  • Conduct routine inspections of:
    • Pumps
    • Motors
    • Valves
    • RO membranes
    • Filling machines
    • Conveyors
  • Assist maintenance teams with preventive maintenance activities.
  • Support corrective maintenance and equipment troubleshooting.
  • Identify operational faults and immediately escalate issues.

Inventory & Documentation Management

  • Monitor chemical consumption and treatment supplies.
  • Maintain spare parts inventory records.
  • Report stock shortages to supervisors.
  • Complete operational logs, maintenance reports, downtime records, and production checklists.
  • Ensure accurate documentation for compliance audits and operational reviews.

Educational Requirements

Minimum Qualification

  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related technical discipline.
