Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain bioinformatics pipelines for high-throughput sequencing data analysis (e.g., RNA-seq, WGS, WES).
- Perform statistical analysis and interpretation of complex biological datasets (genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics).
- Collaborate with molecular biologists, pharmacologists, and clinical scientists to provide bioinformatics support.
- Design and manage biological databases, ensuring data integrity and accessibility.
- Identify and evaluate novel biomarkers for disease diagnosis, prognosis, and therapeutic response.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in bioinformatics tools, integrating relevant technologies.
- Prepare comprehensive reports, presentations, and visualizations of bioinformatics findings.
Required Skills
- Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or Perl for bioinformatics.
- Extensive experience with bioinformatics tools and databases (e.g., NCBI, Ensembl, UCSC Genome Browser, BLAST, GATK).
- Solid understanding of molecular biology, genetics, and statistical methods.
- Experience with high-performance computing (HPC) environments.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary research environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Education
A Master’s Degree is required in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Genomics, Biostatistics, or a closely related scientific field. A Ph.D. is highly preferred.
Experience
Candidates should possess 5-8 years of progressive experience in bioinformatics, preferably within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or academic research sectors. Demonstrated experience in analyzing large-scale genomic and transcriptomic datasets and developing bioinformatics pipelines is essential.
