Job Overview
The Senior Fintech Compliance Specialist will play a critical role in ensuring that our digital banking products and fintech partnerships adhere to all local and international regulatory requirements. As the fintech landscape evolves, so does the complexity of compliance. This role involves monitoring emerging trends, assessing risks associated with new digital products, and working closely with the product development team to ensure compliance is integrated into the design phase. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing regulatory relationships and ensuring that all digital transactions are transparent and secure. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement compliance frameworks for new digital financial products.
- Monitor regulatory changes from the Central Bank of Nigeria and other relevant authorities.
- Conduct thorough due diligence on fintech partners and third-party service providers.
- Collaborate with the IT and Product teams to ensure ‘Compliance by Design’ in all digital tools.
- Lead investigations into potential compliance breaches and implement corrective actions.
- Provide expert guidance to senior management on fintech-related regulatory risks.
Required Skills
- Deep understanding of AML (Anti-Money Laundering) and KYC (Know Your Customer) regulations.
- Strong analytical skills to interpret complex regulatory documents.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with regulators and internal stakeholders.
- Proficiency in using regulatory technology (RegTech) tools and data analytics.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment.
Education
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Law, Finance, Economics, or a related field is required. Professional certifications such as CAMS (Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist) or ICA (International Compliance Association) certifications are highly preferred.
Experience
Candidates must possess between 5 to 7 years of experience in financial compliance, specifically within the fintech or digital banking sector. Proven experience in managing regulatory audits and working with digital payment systems is essential for success in this role.
