Job Overview
We are seeking a Digital Forestry Systems Analyst to join our team in Ijebu-Ode, Nigeria. The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing and interpreting data from various sources to inform conservation efforts and improve forest management practices.
The Digital Forestry Systems Analyst will work closely with our conservation team to develop and implement data-driven solutions to address forest degradation and promote sustainable land use.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and interpret data from various sources, including satellite imagery, field observations, and stakeholder reports
- Develop and implement data-driven solutions to address forest degradation and promote sustainable land use
- Collaborate with conservation team to develop and implement conservation plans
- Provide technical assistance to stakeholders, including government agencies, local communities, and private sector partners
- Stay up-to-date with the latest research and best practices in forest conservation and management
Required Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work with data and statistical software, including R and Python
- Experience with geographic information systems (GIS) and remote sensing technologies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Forestry, or related field
Experience
5-7 years of experience in forest conservation and management, with a focus on data analysis and interpretation
Salary
800,000 – 1,200,000 SSP per annum
