Job Overview
The Construction Safety Compliance Officer will lead the development, implementation, and monitoring of safety policies and procedures across the Port Harcourt cement plant and associated construction sites. This role is pivotal in ensuring compliance with local regulations, international standards, and Dangote Cement’s internal safety protocols. - Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and hazard analyses for all ongoing and upcoming projects.
- Lead safety audits, inspections, and incident investigations, providing corrective action plans and follow‑up.
- Coordinate and deliver regular safety training sessions for employees, subcontractors, and site visitors.
- Maintain up‑to‑date records of safety documentation, permits, and compliance reports.
- Serve as the liaison with Nigerian regulatory agencies such as NIS (National Industrial Safety) and ensure timely submission of required reports.
- Monitor key safety performance indicators (KPIs) and present findings to senior management.
- Promote a proactive safety culture through awareness campaigns, toolbox talks, and employee engagement initiatives.
Required Skills
- In‑depth knowledge of Nigerian occupational health and safety legislation and international standards (ISO 45001, OSHA).

Education

The ideal candidate will have 5‑7 years of progressive experience in safety management within the construction or heavy‑industry sector, preferably in cement, concrete, or related manufacturing environments.
