Key Responsibilities

  • Design, configure, and maintain firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and VPN solutions across the core network.
  • Conduct regular vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and security audits to identify and remediate risks.
  • Develop and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures aligned with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor network traffic using SIEM tools, analyze alerts, and respond to security incidents in real time.
  • Collaborate with network engineering, operations, and IT teams to integrate security controls into new deployments and upgrades.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior security staff and participate in on‑call rotation for incident response.
  • Prepare detailed incident reports, root cause analyses, and recommendations for continuous improvement.

Required Skills

  • Strong knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, MPLS) and security architectures.
  • Hands‑on experience with firewalls (e.g., Palo Alto, Fortinet), IDS/IPS, and VPN technologies.
  • Proficiency in SIEM platforms such as Splunk, QRadar, or ArcSight.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages (Python, Bash) for automation of security tasks.
  • Understanding of regulatory frameworks like NDPR, ISO 27001, and NIST.

Education
