Job Overview
The Enterprise Data Governance Lead will spearhead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of data governance frameworks for IBM Nigeria’s enterprise clients. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and enforce enterprise‑wide data governance policies, standards, and procedures aligned with NDPR and industry best practices.
- Lead data stewardship councils, facilitating collaboration between business owners, data architects, and compliance officers.
- Design data quality metrics, monitoring dashboards, and remediation workflows to ensure data integrity.
- Conduct risk assessments and data lineage analyses to identify and mitigate data‑related risks.
- Partner with IBM Cloud and AI teams to embed governance controls into data pipelines and analytics platforms.
- Provide advisory services to clients on data privacy, security, and regulatory compliance.
- Mentor and train internal consultants and client staff on governance tools and methodologies.
- Prepare executive‑level reports and presentations that communicate governance outcomes and ROI.
Required Skills
- Deep expertise in data governance frameworks (e.g., DAMA‑DMBoK, COBIT).
- Strong knowledge of data privacy regulations, especially NDPR and GDPR.
- Proficiency with data cataloging and lineage tools such as IBM Watson Knowledge Catalog, Collibra, or Alation.
- Experience with cloud data platforms (IBM Cloud, AWS, Azure) and big‑data technologies (Spark, Hadoop).
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to translate complex data concepts into business value.
- Project management certification (PMP, Prince2) is a plus.
Education
A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related discipline is required. Candidates with a master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CDMP, CIPP/NG) will be given preference.
Experience
