Job Purpose
To support the Senior Country Officer in ensuring compliance with internal policies, donor requirements, and legal regulations, while strengthening governance frameworks and risk management processes.
Key Responsibilities
1. Compliance & Governance Support
Prepare briefing notes, compliance updates, and risk summaries for senior management
Draft reports, correspondence, and audit responses
Consolidate information from departments for compliance oversight
Identify and escalate compliance risks to leadership
2. Community Feedback & Response Mechanism (CFRM)
Support implementation and coordination of feedback systems
Document and review sensitive complaints (fraud, safeguarding, abuse)
Maintain confidential complaint databases and generate reports
Follow up on investigation outcomes and corrective actions
3. Compliance Monitoring & Audit Coordination
Conduct compliance checks including vendor screening and asset verification
Assist in preparation for internal and external audits
Maintain audit findings and risk registers
Monitor progress on audit recommendations and corrective actions
4. Capacity Building & Communication
Support compliance training and awareness sessions
Act as liaison between departments and senior management
Provide summaries and recommendations from compliance meetings
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Law, Development Studies, or related field
Experience
2–3 years of relevant experience in an NGO or humanitarian setting
Skills & Competencies
Strong organizational and reporting skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
High level of integrity and confidentiality
Ability to work independently and escalate issues when necessary
Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Fluency in English (knowledge of Hausa and Kanuri is an advantage)
