The Curriculum Development Specialist will design, develop, and evaluate curriculum resources for K‑12 and tertiary education sectors. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct needs analysis with teachers, school administrators, and education authorities to identify curriculum gaps and opportunities.
  • Develop comprehensive curriculum frameworks, lesson plans, and assessment tools aligned with the Nigerian National Curriculum and international best practices.
  • Collaborate with graphic designers, multimedia developers, and e‑learning engineers to produce interactive digital content.
  • Pilot curriculum modules in selected schools, gather feedback, and refine materials based on data‑driven insights.
  • Ensure all content meets Pearson’s quality standards, accessibility guidelines, and cultural relevance for the South‑East region.
  • Provide training workshops and webinars for educators on effective implementation of new curricula.
  • Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of educational policies, emerging technologies, and pedagogical trends.
  • Prepare detailed project reports, timelines, and budget forecasts for senior management.

Required Skills

  • Strong expertise in curriculum design, instructional theory, and assessment strategies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in Igbo is an advantage.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, or similar platforms.
  • Analytical mindset with experience in data collection, evaluation, and reporting.
  • Project management experience, including timeline and resource coordination.

Education

A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Education, Curriculum Development, Instructional Design, or a related discipline is required. A Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., PMP, ADDIE) is highly desirable.

Experience

Applicants should have 3‑5 years of proven experience in curriculum development for primary, secondary, or tertiary education, preferably within the Nigerian context. Experience with digital learning solutions and teacher training programs will be considered an asset.

Salary
