Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Digital Geospatial Data Scientist to join our Geospatial Data Science team in Jos, Nigeria. As a Digital Geospatial Data Scientist, you will be responsible for developing and implementing geospatial data analytics solutions to support our mining operations. You will work closely with our geologists, engineers, and data scientists to integrate geospatial data into our decision-making processes.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in geospatial science, data analytics, and programming languages such as Python and R. You will have experience working with large datasets and be proficient in data visualization tools such as Tableau and Power BI.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement geospatial data analytics solutions to support mining operations
- Work closely with geologists, engineers, and data scientists to integrate geospatial data into decision-making processes
- Design and develop data visualizations to communicate insights to stakeholders
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize business opportunities
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies in geospatial data science
Required Skills
- Master’s degree in Geospatial Science or related field
- 5-8 years of experience in geospatial data science or a related field
- Strong background in data analytics and programming languages such as Python and R
- Experience working with large datasets and data visualization tools such as Tableau and Power BI
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks
Education
We are looking for a candidate with a Master’s degree in Geospatial Science or a related field. A Ph.D. in Geospatial Science or a related field is an added advantage.
Experience
We are seeking a candidate with 5-8 years of experience in geospatial data science or a related field. Experience working in the mining industry is an added advantage.
Salary
The salary for this position is 120,000 – 180,000 SSP per annum, depending on experience.
