Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Environmental Conservation Specialist to join our team in Katsina, Nigeria. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading conservation efforts in the region, working closely with local communities, government agencies, and other stakeholders to protect and restore natural habitats. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the environment and contribute to the conservation of Nigeria’s rich biodiversity.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead conservation efforts in the Katsina region, working closely with local communities, government agencies, and other stakeholders
- Develop and implement conservation plans to protect and restore natural habitats
- Collaborate with local communities to promote sustainable land-use practices and reduce human-wildlife conflict
- Work with government agencies to develop and implement policies that support conservation efforts
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of conservation efforts, making recommendations for improvement
Required Skills
- Master’s degree in Environmental Science or related field
- 8-12 years of experience in conservation or a related field
- Proven track record of leading conservation efforts and working with local communities
- Excellent communication and project management skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances
Education
The successful candidate will have a Master’s degree in Environmental Science or a related field. A Ph.D. in a relevant field is an added advantage.
Experience
The ideal candidate will have 8-12 years of experience in conservation or a related field, with a proven track record of leading conservation efforts and working with local communities.
Salary
The salary for this position is 600,000 – 900,000 SSP per annum, depending on experience.
