Job Overview
The Facilities Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day‑to‑day operations of MainOne’s flagship data center in Lagos. This role ensures that the facility meets the highest standards of uptime, security, and environmental compliance. The successful candidate will lead a multidisciplinary team, manage vendor relationships, and implement best‑in‑class practices to support the critical infrastructure that powers Nigeria’s digital economy. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute preventive maintenance programs for HVAC, power, and cooling systems to guarantee 99.999% uptime.
- Monitor and manage energy consumption, implementing sustainability initiatives to reduce carbon footprint.
- Coordinate with security teams to enforce physical security protocols, access controls, and emergency response plans.
- Lead a team of technicians, contractors, and service providers, ensuring compliance with safety standards and performance metrics.
- Oversee vendor contracts, negotiate service level agreements, and conduct regular performance reviews.
- Prepare detailed reports on facility performance, incidents, and compliance for senior leadership.
- Manage budgeting and forecasting for facilities expenditures, aligning with corporate financial goals.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations, industry standards such as ISO 27001, and data center certifications.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of data center infrastructure, including power distribution, cooling, and fire suppression systems.
- Proven leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent problem‑solving and decision‑making skills under high‑pressure situations.
- Effective communication skills for interfacing with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
- Familiarity with sustainability practices and energy efficiency technologies.

Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Facility Management, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline is required. Professional certifications such as Certified Facility Manager (CFM) or Data Center Certified Associate (DCCA) are advantageous.
Experience
Minimum of five (5) years managing facilities in high‑availability environments, preferably data centers, telecom hubs, or large‑scale IT campuses. Experience with regulatory compliance and vendor management is essential.
Salary
The compensation package ranges from NGN 2,500,000 to NGN 3,500,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Performance‑based bonuses and incentives are also part of the package.
