Job Overview

The FinTech Product Compliance Manager will lead the development, implementation, and monitoring of compliance frameworks for Flutterwave’s suite of payment products. Reporting to the Head of Compliance, you will collaborate closely with product, legal, risk, and engineering teams to embed regulatory requirements into product design and lifecycle management. This role is pivotal in ensuring that Flutterwave’s offerings meet local and international standards, including the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) regulations, PCI DSS, AML/KYC guidelines, and emerging digital finance policies. You will also act as the primary liaison with regulatory bodies, auditors, and external consultants. Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain comprehensive compliance policies for all payment products, ensuring alignment with Nigerian and international regulations.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments, gap analyses, and compliance audits to identify and mitigate potential regulatory breaches.
  • Collaborate with product managers and engineers to embed compliance controls into product development cycles (design, testing, launch, and post‑launch monitoring).
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory authorities, responding to inquiries, filing reports, and managing inspections.
  • Develop and deliver compliance training programs for cross‑functional teams, fostering a culture of regulatory awareness.
  • Monitor legislative changes, industry standards, and emerging fintech trends to proactively update internal policies.
  • Prepare and present compliance dashboards and reports to senior leadership and the board of directors.
  • Lead incident response activities related to compliance breaches, including root‑cause analysis and remediation planning.

Required Skills

  • Deep understanding of Nigerian financial regulations, including CBN guidelines, AML/KYC, and data protection laws.
  • Experience with international standards such as PCI DSS, GDPR, and ISO 27001.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, with a data‑driven approach to risk management.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of translating complex regulatory language into actionable product requirements.
  • Proficiency in compliance management tools and platforms.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in fast‑paced, cross‑functional environments.
  • Leadership experience, with a track record of guiding teams through regulatory change initiatives.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Law, Finance, Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related discipline is required. A Master’s degree or professional certifications such as Certified Anti‑Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS), Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP), or Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) are highly desirable.

Experience

Minimum of five (5) years of hands‑on compliance experience within the fintech, banking, or financial services sector, preferably with exposure to product development cycles and regulatory liaison activities.

Salary

The compensation package ranges from ₦3,000,000 to ₦5,000,000 per annum, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The package includes performance‑based bonuses, health insurance, and a retirement savings plan.
