Job Overview
The Risk Management Analyst will play a pivotal role in identifying, assessing, and mitigating financial and operational risks within GTBank’s Benin City operations. Reporting to the Head of Risk Management, the analyst will collaborate with credit, treasury, compliance, and business units to develop risk models, conduct stress testing, and produce insightful reports that guide senior management. Key Responsibilities
- Analyze credit, market, and operational risk data to produce quantitative risk assessments.
- Develop and maintain risk rating models, scorecards, and dashboards for senior management.
- Conduct periodic stress testing and scenario analysis to evaluate the impact of economic fluctuations.
- Collaborate with compliance and audit teams to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies.
- Prepare detailed risk reports, presentations, and recommendations for the Risk Committee.
- Monitor emerging risk trends and propose mitigation strategies aligned with GTBank’s risk appetite.
- Support the implementation of risk management tools and technologies.
Required Skills
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with proficiency in statistical software (e.g., SAS, R, Python).
- Excellent knowledge of banking risk frameworks such as Basel III, IFRS 9, and local regulatory guidelines.
- Effective communication skills to convey complex risk concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
- Attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Team‑oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate across functions.
Education
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Mathematics, or a related discipline is required. Professional certifications such as FRM (Financial Risk Manager) or CFA are advantageous and demonstrate a commitment to the risk management profession.
Experience
Applicants should have 2‑4 years of relevant experience in risk analysis, credit risk assessment, or a similar role within a banking or financial services environment. Experience with risk modeling, data analytics, and regulatory reporting will be highly valued.
Salary
