Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Senior Procurement Specialist to join our dynamic supply chain team in Abuja. This role is critical to ensuring the seamless acquisition of raw materials, packaging, and indirect services required for our manufacturing processes. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing procurement strategies, managing vendor relationships, and optimizing costs while maintaining the highest standards of quality and sustainability. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic sourcing plans to ensure continuous supply of essential materials.
- Negotiate complex contracts with local and international suppliers to achieve cost savings and optimal terms.
- Conduct regular supplier performance evaluations to ensure compliance with Nestlé quality standards.
- Collaborate with the finance and production departments to align procurement activities with budgetary and operational goals.
- Identify and mitigate supply chain risks through proactive market analysis and contingency planning.
- Drive sustainability initiatives within the procurement process to support environmental goals.
Required Skills
- Advanced negotiation and contract management skills.
- Proficiency in ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle.
- Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making capabilities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- In-depth knowledge of Nigerian procurement laws and international trade regulations.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field is mandatory. Professional certification such as CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) is highly preferred. Candidates with advanced degrees or specialized training in strategic sourcing will be given preference.
Experience
A minimum of 5 to 7 years of progressive experience in procurement or strategic sourcing within the manufacturing or FMCG industry is required. Proven track record of managing large-scale vendor portfolios and delivering significant cost efficiencies is essential.
