Job Overview

The Solar Project Development Engineer will lead the end‑to‑end development of utility‑scale and commercial solar projects from site identification through commissioning. Key Responsibilities

• Identify and evaluate potential solar project sites using GIS tools, satellite imagery, and on‑ground assessments.
• Conduct technical feasibility studies, including solar resource analysis, grid interconnection studies, and land use assessments.
• Develop detailed engineering designs, layout plans, and electrical schematics in compliance with IEC standards.
• Prepare and review project documentation such as EPC contracts, power purchase agreements (PPAs), and environmental impact assessments.
• Coordinate with local authorities, utility companies, and community leaders to secure permits, land rights, and grid connection approvals.
• Lead multidisciplinary project teams, ensuring alignment on timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
• Perform cost‑benefit analysis, financial modeling, and risk assessments to support investment decisions.
• Monitor project progress during construction, providing technical support and troubleshooting as needed.
• Ensure all projects adhere to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations and Enel’s internal policies.
• Stay updated on emerging solar technologies, market trends, and policy changes to drive continuous improvement.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of solar PV system design, grid integration, and performance optimization.
• Proficiency with design software such as PVSyst, AutoCAD, and PV*SOL.

Education

Experience

At least five (5) years of hands‑on experience in solar project development, engineering, or EPC execution, preferably within the African market. Demonstrated track record of delivering projects from concept to commissioning is essential.
