Job Overview
AgriTech Solutions Nigeria Ltd. is seeking a dynamic Agricultural Technology Specialist to lead the integration of smart farming solutions in Kano. This role combines technical expertise with agricultural knowledge to design and implement technology-driven systems that improve productivity and sustainability. The ideal candidate will collaborate with local farmers, agronomists, and tech teams to deploy IoT-based monitoring tools, precision irrigation systems, and data analytics platforms tailored to regional needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement agricultural technology solutions for crop monitoring and yield optimization
- Conduct field assessments to identify opportunities for technological intervention
- Train farmers and agricultural workers on the use of digital tools and platforms
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop scalable agri-tech innovations
- Analyze agricultural data to provide actionable insights for resource management
- Ensure compliance with environmental and safety standards in technology deployment
Required Skills
- Proficiency in agricultural technology systems (IoT, precision farming tools)
- Strong understanding of crop science and soil management principles
- Experience with data analytics software (Python, R, or Tableau)
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
- Problem-solving skills with a focus on sustainable agricultural practices
- Fluency in Hausa or other local languages is an advantage
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Engineering, Agronomy, Environmental Science, or related field. Advanced degrees in Agricultural Technology or Data Science are preferred.
Experience
2-3 years of experience in agricultural technology implementation, preferably in a Nigerian context. Prior project management experience in rural development initiatives is advantageous.
Salary
300,000 – 450,000 SSP per annum, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
