Job Overview

The Chief Data Ethics Officer will lead the development, implementation, and oversight of Meta Platforms Nigeria’s data ethics strategy. Reporting directly to the Regional Vice President, you will collaborate with cross‑functional teams—including product, legal, engineering, and public policy—to embed ethical considerations into every stage of data lifecycle management. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and enforce a comprehensive data ethics policy that aligns with global standards and Nigerian regulations.
• Lead ethical risk assessments for new products, features, and data‑driven initiatives.
• Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to ensure adherence to the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR) and other relevant laws.
• Provide guidance and training to product and engineering teams on ethical data handling and responsible AI.
• Establish an ethics review board and facilitate regular audits of data practices.
• Monitor emerging trends in data ethics, privacy, and AI governance, and advise senior leadership on strategic implications.
• Engage with external stakeholders, including regulators, NGOs, and academic institutions, to promote transparent data practices.
• Report on ethics metrics and key performance indicators to the executive team.

Salary
