Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Hydrology Modeler to join our specialized environmental engineering team in Yenagoa. This role is critical to our operations in the Niger Delta, where managing complex hydrological systems is essential for both industrial compliance and community water security. You will be responsible for developing, calibrating, and maintaining sophisticated numerical models to simulate groundwater flow, surface water runoff, and contaminant transport.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement complex 3D groundwater flow models using industry-standard software.
- Perform sensitivity analysis and uncertainty quantification to ensure model reliability.
- Simulate contaminant transport scenarios to assess environmental risks in sensitive ecosystems.
- Collaborate with field technicians to design and oversee groundwater monitoring well installations.
- Interpret large datasets from telemetry-enabled monitoring stations.
- Prepare technical reports for regulatory bodies and project stakeholders.
Required Skills
- Advanced proficiency in MODFLOW, FEFLOW, or similar numerical modeling software.
- Strong mathematical foundation in fluid dynamics and hydrogeology.
- Expertise in GIS (Geographic Information Systems) for spatial data integration.
- Exceptional technical writing skills for complex environmental impact assessments.
- Ability to manage multi-disciplinary project teams in remote field settings.
Education
A minimum of a Master’s degree in Hydrology, Water Resources Engineering, or a closely related Earth Science discipline is required. A PhD is highly preferred for this senior-level technical position.
Experience
Candidates must demonstrate at least 5 years of professional experience in hydrological modeling, specifically within the oil and gas or large-scale civil infrastructure sectors. Proven experience working in the Niger Delta region is a significant advantage due to the unique geological complexities of the area.
