Job Overview

The Learning Platform Product Manager will own the end‑to‑end product lifecycle of Andela’s flagship educational platform, which delivers immersive, project‑based learning experiences to thousands of developers across Africa. Reporting to the Head of Product, you will collaborate with cross‑functional teams—including engineering, design, data science, and customer success—to define product vision, prioritize features, and ensure successful delivery. This role is central to Andela’s strategy of expanding its edtech footprint, and you will play a pivotal part in shaping the future of technology education in Nigeria and the broader continent. The position offers a unique blend of strategic planning, hands‑on execution, and market analysis, providing a rewarding challenge for seasoned product leaders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and communicate a clear product roadmap aligned with business goals and user needs.
  • Conduct market research, competitor analysis, and user interviews to uncover insights that drive product decisions.
  • Prioritize features and enhancements using data‑driven frameworks such as OKRs and RICE scoring.
  • Collaborate with engineering and design teams to translate requirements into detailed specifications and user stories.
  • Lead agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as user engagement, completion rates, and Net Promoter Score (NPS) to assess product impact.
  • Work closely with the Marketing and Sales teams to develop go‑to‑market strategies and launch plans.
  • Gather and synthesize feedback from learners, instructors, and enterprise partners to iterate on product features.
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and accessibility standards.
  • Represent Andela at industry conferences, webinars, and thought‑leadership events to promote the platform.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience (5+ years) managing SaaS or edtech products from concept to launch.
  • Strong analytical mindset with proficiency in tools like Mixpanel, Amplitude, or Google Analytics.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into user‑friendly language.
  • Experience working in agile environments and leading cross‑functional teams.
  • Knowledge of instructional design principles and learning experience platforms (LXP) is a plus.
  • Strategic thinking combined with a hands‑on execution style.
  • Passion for education and a deep understanding of the African tech talent landscape.

Education

A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Education Technology, or a related discipline is required. Candidates with a master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) or a specialized master’s in Education Technology are highly preferred.

Experience

Applicants must have a minimum of five years of product management experience, with at least two years focused on educational technology, SaaS platforms, or digital learning solutions. Experience in emerging markets, particularly in Africa, will be considered an advantage.

Salary

The compensation package ranges from ₦2,500,000 to ₦3,500,000 per annum, commensurate with experience and expertise. The package includes performance‑based bonuses, equity options, and a comprehensive benefits suite.
