Job Overview
The Retail Store Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of store performance in Kaduna, ensuring operational excellence, high customer satisfaction, and achievement of sales targets. Reporting to the Regional Operations Director, you will lead a team of store managers, supervisors, and frontline staff, driving initiatives that improve efficiency, inventory accuracy, and visual merchandising standards. This role requires a strategic mindset, strong analytical skills, and the ability to motivate teams in a multicultural environment. You will also collaborate closely with Konga’s corporate functions such as Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance, and Human Resources to align store activities with corporate objectives. Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily store operations, ensuring compliance with Konga’s SOPs, health and safety standards, and local regulations.
- Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve monthly and annual revenue targets.
- Manage inventory control processes, including stock replenishment, shrinkage reduction, and accurate reporting.
- Coach, mentor, and evaluate store managers and staff, fostering a high‑performance culture.
- Analyze store performance metrics, prepare reports for senior leadership, and implement corrective actions.
- Coordinate with the Marketing team to execute promotional campaigns and visual merchandising plans.
- Oversee loss prevention initiatives and conduct regular audits to safeguard assets.
- Ensure excellent customer service standards, handling escalations and feedback promptly.
Required Skills
- Strong leadership and people management abilities with a track record of building effective teams.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills, proficient in using retail management software and MS Excel.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging with diverse stakeholders.
- Deep understanding of retail operations, supply chain logistics, and merchandising principles.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and adapt to changing market conditions.
- Proficiency in budgeting, P&L management, and cost‑control techniques.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, Commerce or a related discipline is required. Candidates with additional certifications in Retail Management, Supply Chain, or Project Management will be given preference.
Experience
Minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in retail store management or operations, preferably within a multi‑store environment. Experience in e‑commerce integration, omni‑channel retail, or fast‑moving consumer goods (FMCG) is highly desirable.
Salary
The compensation package ranges from ₦2,500,000 to ₦3,500,000 per annum, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The package includes performance‑based bonuses, health insurance, and a retirement savings scheme.
