Job Overview

The Clinical Research Associate (CRA) will support the planning, execution, and monitoring of clinical trials for GSK’s pharmaceutical pipeline in Nigeria. Reporting to the Clinical Project Manager, the CRA will ensure that studies are conducted in compliance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP), regulatory requirements, and GSK’s internal standards. This position plays a critical role in safeguarding participant safety, data integrity, and the overall success of clinical programs, contributing directly to GSK’s innovative drug development pipeline. Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate site selection, initiation, monitoring, and close‑out activities for assigned clinical sites.

• Conduct regular site visits to verify source data, resolve queries, and monitor patient safety.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including case report forms, monitoring reports, and regulatory submissions.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams such as Data Management, Pharmacovigilance, and Medical Affairs to address study issues.
• Provide training and support to site staff on protocol specifics, investigational product handling, and adverse event reporting.
• Assist in the preparation of study timelines, budgets, and risk mitigation plans.
• Contribute to the development of monitoring plans and risk‑based monitoring strategies.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of GCP, ICH guidelines, and Nigerian regulatory requirements.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder engagement.
• Proficiency in electronic data capture (EDC) systems and clinical trial management software.
• Analytical mindset with attention to detail and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to travel frequently within Nigeria and manage multiple site visits.

Education

A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Medicine, Nursing, Biology, or a related life science discipline is required. Advanced degrees (MSc, PhD) or certifications such as Certified Clinical Research Professional (CCRP) are advantageous and demonstrate a commitment to professional development.

Experience

Applicants should have 3‑5 years of hands‑on experience as a Clinical Research Associate or in a similar role within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry. Experience managing Phase I‑III clinical trials in Nigeria or other African markets is highly valued.

Salary
