Job Overview

The Cold Chain Logistics Manager will lead the design, implementation, and optimization of PepsiCo Nigeria’s temperature‑controlled logistics network in the southern region, with a primary focus on the Eket hub. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive cold chain strategy that supports PepsiCo Nigeria’s growth targets and compliance requirements.
• Oversee the end‑to‑end cold chain process, including temperature‑controlled warehousing, transportation, and distribution.
• Implement real‑time temperature monitoring systems and ensure data integrity across all logistics nodes.
• Manage relationships with third‑party logistics providers, negotiate service level agreements, and monitor performance metrics.
• Lead a cross‑functional team of logistics coordinators, drivers, and warehouse supervisors to achieve operational excellence.
• Conduct regular risk assessments, identify bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions to minimize product spoilage.
• Collaborate with the Quality Assurance department to ensure compliance with food safety standards such as HACCP and ISO 22000.
• Prepare and present monthly performance reports, highlighting key KPIs such as on‑time delivery, temperature variance, and cost efficiency.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or other process optimization methodologies.
• Support sustainability goals by optimizing routes, reducing carbon emissions, and exploring eco‑friendly refrigeration technologies.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of cold chain logistics, temperature‑controlled transport, and warehousing.
• Proficiency in logistics management software (e.g., SAP TM, Oracle Transportation Management) and data analytics tools.
• Excellent negotiation and vendor management capabilities.
• Leadership experience with the ability to motivate and develop multidisciplinary teams.
• Analytical mindset with a focus on KPI‑driven decision making.
• Effective communication skills for stakeholder engagement at all organizational levels.
• Understanding of Nigerian regulatory requirements for food safety and cold storage.
• Project management certification (PMP, PRINCE2) is an advantage.

Education

A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related discipline is required. Advanced degrees or professional certifications in cold chain management, food safety, or logistics are highly desirable.

Experience

Candidates must have at least five years of progressive experience in logistics, with a minimum of three years focused on cold chain operations within the FMCG, pharmaceutical, or perishable goods sectors. Experience managing third‑party logistics providers and leading large‑scale projects is essential.

Salary
