Job Overview
Caterpillar Inc. Nigeria is seeking a highly skilled Industrial Automation Systems Engineer to design, implement, and maintain automation systems for manufacturing and industrial clients. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate advanced technologies such as PLCs, robotics, and IoT-enabled systems to optimize production processes. The ideal candidate will contribute to Caterpillar’s mission of driving industrial efficiency through automation in Nigeria’s growing manufacturing sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop industrial automation systems using PLCs, SCADA, and HMI technologies
- Conduct feasibility studies and system audits for automation projects
- Collaborate with clients to understand production requirements and deliver customized solutions
- Implement and test automation systems to ensure compliance with safety and performance standards
- Provide technical support and training to end-users on system operation and maintenance
Required Skills
- Proficiency in PLC programming (Siemens, Allen-Bradley)
- Experience with SCADA/HMI systems (Wonderware, Ignition)
- Knowledge of industrial robotics and motion control systems
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and project management abilities
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Advanced certifications in automation technologies (e.g., Certified Automation Professional) are preferred.
Experience
3-5 years of experience in industrial automation systems design and implementation. Prior experience in manufacturing or heavy industry is a plus.
Salary
2,500,000 – 3,500,000 SSP annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
