Job Overview
The Learning Experience Designer will be responsible for creating engaging, learner‑centred digital and blended learning solutions that align with the British Council’s educational standards. Working closely with subject matter experts, instructional technologists, and project managers, you will design curricula, develop interactive content, and evaluate learning outcomes for a diverse audience ranging from school teachers to adult learners. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and prototype digital learning modules, micro‑learning assets, and blended course materials.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to translate complex concepts into clear, engaging learning experiences.
- Apply instructional design models (ADDIE, SAM) to ensure systematic development and evaluation.
- Integrate multimedia elements such as video, audio, simulations, and interactive assessments.
- Conduct needs analysis and learner profiling to tailor content to diverse audiences.
- Perform usability testing and iterate designs based on feedback and data analytics.
- Maintain consistency with the British Council brand guidelines and accessibility standards.
- Support the Learning & Development team in project planning, timelines, and resource allocation.
- Monitor and report on learning effectiveness using KPIs and learning analytics.
- Stay current with emerging e‑learning technologies and best practices to drive continuous improvement.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in e‑learning authoring tools (Articulate Storyline, Rise, Adobe Captivate).
- Strong knowledge of Learning Management Systems (Moodle, Canvas, Blackboard).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to create visually appealing graphics using Adobe Creative Suite or Canva.
- Analytical mindset with experience in data‑driven decision making.
- Project management capabilities and ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Understanding of adult learning principles and inclusive design.

Education
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Curriculum Development, or a related discipline is required. A Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., ATD, CPLP) are advantageous and demonstrate a commitment to professional growth.
Experience
Applicants should have 3‑5 years of proven experience designing and delivering digital learning solutions, preferably within an international or non‑profit educational organization. Experience working in Nigeria or similar emerging markets is a plus.
Salary
