Job Overview
The Robotics Automation Engineer will lead the design, integration, and optimization of robotic systems for ABB’s manufacturing clients in the region. This role blends mechanical design, electrical control, and software programming to deliver turnkey automation solutions that improve productivity, safety, and energy efficiency. The engineer will collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including sales, project management, and field service, to ensure successful project delivery from concept through commissioning. Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop robotic cell layouts, mechanical structures, and end‑effectors tailored to client specifications.
- Program and configure PLCs, motion controllers, and safety systems using industry‑standard languages (IEC 61131‑3, RAPID, KRL).
- Integrate vision systems, force sensors, and AI algorithms to enable adaptive and collaborative robot operations.
- Conduct feasibility studies, cost‑benefit analyses, and risk assessments for automation projects.
- Lead on‑site installation, testing, debugging, and commissioning of robotic solutions.
- Provide technical support and training to client engineering teams and ABB field service personnel.
- Collaborate with product development to propose enhancements based on field feedback.
- Maintain detailed project documentation, including schematics, bill of materials, and compliance reports.
- Ensure all solutions meet local and international safety standards (ISO 10218, IEC 61508).
- Contribute to business development by preparing technical proposals and presentations for prospective customers.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, CATIA) and simulation tools (MATLAB/Simulink).
- Strong knowledge of PLC programming, robotics languages, and industrial communication protocols (EtherNet/IP, PROFINET).
- Experience with robot manufacturers such as ABB, FANUC, KUKA, or Universal Robots.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex electromechanical systems and implement corrective actions quickly.
- Excellent problem‑solving mindset and analytical skills.
- Effective communication skills for client interaction and interdisciplinary teamwork.

Education
The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a closely related discipline. Experience

Salary
