Job Overview

The Cybersecurity Awareness Program Manager will lead the design, implementation, and evaluation of comprehensive security awareness initiatives across MTN Nigeria’s extensive employee base. This role is pivotal in strengthening the organization’s security posture by cultivating a security‑first mindset, reducing human‑related risk, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards such as the Nigerian Data Protection Regulation (NDPR). Reporting to the Head of Security Operations, the manager will collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including IT, HR, Legal, and Business Units, to embed security awareness into daily business processes. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a multi‑layered cybersecurity awareness strategy aligned with MTN’s risk management framework and business objectives.
• Design engaging training modules, phishing simulations, workshops, and communication campaigns that address current threat landscapes.
• Partner with HR and Learning & Development to integrate security awareness into onboarding, continuous learning, and performance management.
• Monitor, measure, and report on program effectiveness using metrics such as click‑through rates, incident reduction, and employee feedback.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of emerging cyber threats, regulatory changes, and best practices to continuously refine program content.
• Coordinate with the Incident Response Team to incorporate lessons learned from security events into awareness materials.
• Manage relationships with external vendors, content providers, and industry bodies to leverage cutting‑edge resources.
• Ensure all communications comply with MTN’s branding guidelines and promote a positive security culture.

Required Skills

• Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, threat vectors, and social engineering tactics.
• Proven experience designing and delivering adult learning programs, preferably in a corporate environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into clear, relatable messages.
• Project management expertise, including budgeting, scheduling, and stakeholder coordination.
• Analytical mindset for interpreting data, generating insights, and presenting actionable recommendations.
• Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS) and phishing simulation platforms.
• Ability to work collaboratively across diverse teams and influence senior leadership.

Education

A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline is required. Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CompTIA Security+ are highly desirable and demonstrate a commitment to the field.

The ideal candidate will have 5‑7 years of experience in cybersecurity, information security awareness, or related roles within large enterprises. Salary
