Job Overview
The Cybersecurity Incident Response Manager will lead IBM Nigeria’s Security Operations Center (SOC) in detecting, analyzing, and mitigating cyber threats that target client environments and internal infrastructure. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of incident responders, analysts, and threat hunters to ensure rapid detection and containment of security incidents.
- Develop, test, and refine incident response playbooks, standard operating procedures, and escalation matrices aligned with industry best practices.
- Coordinate real‑time response activities during security breaches, including forensic analysis, root‑cause investigation, and remediation planning.
- Collaborate with client IT and security teams to provide guidance on incident handling, evidence preservation, and post‑incident reporting.
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of emerging threats, attack vectors, and vulnerability trends to proactively adjust response strategies.
- Produce comprehensive incident reports, executive summaries, and lessons‑learned documentation for internal stakeholders and clients.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing incident metrics, identifying gaps, and implementing corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations such as Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR) and industry standards like ISO 27001 and NIST.
- Represent IBM Nigeria in industry forums, conferences, and cybersecurity working groups to enhance the company’s reputation in the Nigerian market.
Required Skills
- Deep expertise in incident response methodologies, digital forensics, and malware analysis.
- Proficiency with SIEM platforms (e.g., QRadar, Splunk), endpoint detection and response tools, and network traffic analysis utilities.
- Strong understanding of cloud security architectures, especially within IBM Cloud, AWS, and Azure environments.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritize multiple incidents, and make decisive decisions.
- Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, GCIH, or similar are highly desirable.
Education
A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline is required. Advanced degrees or specialized certifications will be considered an advantage and reflect the candidate’s commitment to professional growth.
Experience
