Job Overview
The Project Controls Engineer will play a pivotal role in planning, monitoring, and controlling project performance for CCECC’s construction initiatives in Maiduguri and surrounding areas. You will be responsible for developing cost estimates, schedules, risk assessments, and performance metrics to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Collaboration with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors is essential to maintain alignment with client expectations and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 or MS Project.
- Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and cash flow forecasts, ensuring alignment with contractual terms.
- Monitor project progress, identify variances, and implement corrective actions to mitigate risks.
- Generate regular performance reports for senior management and stakeholders.
- Coordinate with procurement, engineering, and field teams to ensure data accuracy and timely updates.
- Conduct risk analysis and develop mitigation plans to address potential schedule or cost overruns.
- Support change order management and evaluate financial impacts of scope modifications.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations, safety standards, and CCECC’s internal policies.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in project management software (Primavera P6, MS Project) and Excel.
- Strong analytical and quantitative abilities for cost and schedule analysis.
- Excellent communication skills for reporting to diverse stakeholders.
- Knowledge of construction contracts, EPC contracts, and Nigerian construction regulations.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Team‑oriented mindset with collaborative problem‑solving approach.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field is required. Professional certifications such as PMP, PMI‑ACP, or AACE International credentials are highly desirable and will be considered an advantage during the selection process.
Experience
Minimum of five (5) years of hands‑on experience in project controls, cost engineering, or schedule management within the construction or infrastructure sector. Experience on large‑scale public works or international projects in Nigeria or other African markets is preferred.
Salary
The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary ranging from SSP 2,500,000 to SSP 4,000,000 per annum, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Performance‑based bonuses and allowances may be offered in line with company policy.
