Job Overview
The Territory Sales Manager (TSM) will be responsible for driving revenue generation, achieving territory sales targets, managing distributors, strengthening market penetration, improving sales performance, and ensuring operational excellence within assigned regions.
The selected candidate will work closely with the Regional Sales Manager and distributor network to ensure efficient product availability, effective market coverage, and sustainable business growth.
Key Job Responsibilities
Distribution Management & Market Coverage
- Design and implement distributor beat plans to ensure maximum market reach and product availability.
- Ensure proper retail outlet coverage within assigned territories.
- Support the appointment and onboarding of distributors where necessary.
- Monitor warehouse operations, stock movement, and distribution efficiency.
Sales Performance & Revenue Growth
- Achieve assigned primary and secondary sales targets.
- Break down territory targets into practical sales channels and route plans.
- Drive sales volume growth through strategic territory planning.
- Monitor product penetration and market share expansion.
Distributor & Team Management
- Evaluate distributor sales team performance regularly.
- Recommend and implement sales training programs to improve efficiency.
- Monitor distributor infrastructure including:
- Warehousing
- Distribution units
- Sales workforce
- Financial capacity
- Logistics support
Market Intelligence & Competitor Monitoring
- Monitor competitor promotions, new product launches, pricing, and trade activities.
- Gather insights on customer preferences and market demand.
- Report competition trends and opportunities to management.
Management Information System (MIS)
- Maintain accurate territory sales records and reports.
- Ensure timely submission of performance reports to management.
- Track business KPIs, distributor ROI, and sales productivity.
Business Development & Customer Relationship Management
- Build strong business relationships with distributors and retail partners.
- Improve customer retention and market engagement.
- Identify opportunities for business expansion and territory optimization.
