Job Overview

The Automotive Production Planning Manager will lead the planning function for the Kaduna assembly line, ensuring optimal utilization of resources, adherence to production schedules, and alignment with market demand. Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and continuously improve master production schedules for vehicle assembly, balancing demand forecasts with capacity constraints.
• Coordinate with procurement and logistics to ensure timely availability of components, minimizing inventory holding costs while preventing stock‑outs.
• Analyze production performance data, identify bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions to achieve target OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) metrics.
• Lead cross‑functional meetings with engineering, quality, and finance to align production plans with product launch timelines and cost targets.
• Prepare regular reports for senior management, highlighting key performance indicators, risks, and opportunities for process optimization.
• Implement lean manufacturing principles, such as Kaizen and 5S, to drive continuous improvement across the production floor.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, fostering a culture of safety and sustainability.

Required Skills

• Strong analytical abilities with proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and advanced Excel modeling.

Education

A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Production Management, or a closely related discipline is required. Candidates with a master’s degree or professional certifications such as CPIM, Six Sigma Black Belt, or PMP will be given preference.

Experience

Applicants must have a minimum of five to seven years of hands‑on experience in production planning within the automotive or heavy‑manufacturing sector. Prior exposure to global automotive standards and experience working in a multi‑site environment are highly desirable.
